Hearty Turkey Chili
A warm, nourishing bowl with a blend of spices and rich flavors, perfect for cozy days. Easily customizable—swap the turkey for tofu or extra beans to make it vegetarian!

2 packs ground organic turkey
3 cans pinto or chili beans (or any beans available)
4 garlic cloves, crushed
1 tbsp olive oil
1 yellow onion, chopped
1 large can fire-roasted tomato sauce
2 bell peppers, chopped
1 cup bone broth (or vegetable broth for vegetarian option)
Seasonings:
Chili powder (to taste)
Garlic powder
Smoked paprika
Salt
1 bay leaf
Onion powder
Roasted cumin
Cayenne pepper
Garnishes:
Nancy’s probiotic sour cream
Shredded Mexican cheese
Shallots (preferred over red onions)
Sliced Serrano peppers
Tortilla chips
Instructions:
Heat the Pot: In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.
Sauté Aromatics: Add chopped onions and sauté for 1-2 minutes until softened. Stir in crushed garlic and cook until fragrant.
Brown the Turkey: Add ground turkey, cooking until slightly browned.
Season the Meat: Sprinkle in chili powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, onion powder, cumin, and a dash of cayenne. Cook, stirring, for about 4-5 minutes to let the spices bloom.
Add Liquids and Vegetables: Pour in the fire-roasted tomato sauce and bone broth. Add the chopped bell peppers and bay leaf.
Simmer: Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat, cover, and let simmer for 45 minutes to 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
To Serve:
Ladle the chili into bowls and top with a spoonful of sour cream, a sprinkle of shredded cheese, sliced Serrano peppers, chopped shallots (or red onions if preferred), and tortilla chips.
